Here, in this 'hulu' school, i am able to use the LCD and the projector! The procedure to use the room is very very easy. Totally different from what i had experienced during my practicum in a 'hilir' school located in a big city where i couldn't use ICT because of certain unexplained reasons (I think there's a conspiracy against me, and Mai! ha ha)
i dun even have to book the room (Lucky me!) cuz no one is interested in using the LCD. There might be one or two teachers who use the room, but merely because it is air-conditioned, not because of the facilities available in that room (Tv, astro, lcd, etc).
Wow. This is totally different from my practicum where i was told that i MUST use ICT during the lesson (not by IPBA's lecturer, ...) but was not equipped with the LCD etc. and the processes to borrow the LCD were not that encouraging. It's said that...the trainee teachers couldn't handle all those EXPENSIVE things very well. see the irony?
And yesterday, i this school, i conquered the Multimedia room, for my three Form 1 classes. The students liked the lesson very much. They paid more attention and did all the works given. I showed them a clip from Macbeth where he recites the poem, Life's Brief Candle. After that, the students were like "Teacher, i wanna recite too" "Teacher, me me, choose me" "Teacher, i can read like Macbeth" "Teacher, sape bunuh wife die?"
hm. It showed that they too want a change in the daily, boring teaching-learning processes. So, make full use of the facilities that u have for ur students' benefits ya!

I wish I had an ICT room...
The money for it was washed away by a big flood 2 years ago...
=(
oh jarod kesiannye! but then, u can do other things! i'm renovating (in tems of the sources) for the English room and i have sooo many ideas for it, but have to wait for all the sukan sekolah, sukan daerah to finish first!

Jarod: poor ur school~
Nisa': Sile2. mi pun dah link kan blog nisa'. Luv to read ur blog. It keeps me motivated to go to the school. dang~
my school pun sama. senang je nak guna bilik LCD (but here they call it Bilik APD - Alat Pandang Dengar).
Tapi kena "berebut" skit dgn cikgu2. heh.
I had a particularly difficult Form 1 class. When I showed them several recitations of Life's Brief Candle, they don't seem to appreciate them. Rasa sedih after all the preparations that I had put in for the so-called ICT lesson.
But the very next day, students came bounding into class yelling: "tomorrow, tomorrow and tomorrow..."
hahaha
That made my day somewhat :-)
haha Syada. yup. students, unpredictable, right?
