Earthquake again? An aftershock?

taken from BBC News

Remember the deadly earthquake in Christchurch last February? The 6.3-magnitude earthquake that had killed more than 100 people. And the latest news that i heard was an aftershock has rattled the earthquake-ravaged city, Christchurch again on the June 6..and it's a 5.0 magnitude quake.

Had i experienced an earthquake? Yes, to be exact. i felt the shaking. When i was reciting the Quran after a Maghrib prayer (on the bed), my body was shaking... the first thing in my mind was "is there a ghost in this room? trying to play with me?" (haha. this was because my housemates and i watched two Thais ghost stories the other night in my room!) Then, it struck me that 'hey, i am in NZ! this might be an earthquake!' So, i looked under the table to make sure that i could hide there. yeah, you know what you supposed to do when there is an earthquake, right? Hide under the table, or something?? then, the quake stopped. it only lasted for almost a minute (kot?) My housemates went out from their rooms. we were stunned and almost trying to say "Do you feel the shake?" but alas. we smiled and talked about an earthquake. i could vividly remember that Kak Ina (one of my housemates, the PHD student) said that "hangpa tau dak, ada ramalan kata NZ akan alami gempa bumi besaq. Kak ina harap lepas kak ina balik la baru jadik" This made us (Fathiyah and i) laughed out loud. "Kami kejap je kat sini, kak ina. tak lama dah nak balik" that was our respond. if i remember it clearly, that was in 2006. (phew, it has been 5 years, isn't it) Actually, nothing serious had happened and yes, it was an earthquake with a small magnitude shock in Wellington.

After the deadliest natural disaster in Chch last February, my colleague went to me and said "Nasib le sy x jadi smbung belajar kat sane. kalu x, ntah ape jadi" I smiled. No comment at all.
And one of my close friends is going there in four days..i pray for her safety. i know she's quite worried with the latest condition, but i believe everything will turn out ok.
And. My close relatives, Kak Na will go to NZ too this July. I hope everything will be okay.
Here, i just wanna say..Bencana dan bala dari Allah berlaku di mana2 saja. x kira tempat or masa. If Allah says "Kun fayakun" then everything will happen no matter what. So, mane2 je kite berada, please..always remember Him. Doa and tawakkal are the most important weapons now. Take care.
